London EdTech Week has arrived and it's now only three days until our event the impact of GDPR in higher education. In the lead up to our one-day conference, here's an introduction to the experts who will be speaking on the day.
Chair: Sophie Bailey, Founder of The EdTech Podcast
Sophie founded The Edtech Podcast which is downloaded in over 69 countries each week. She is a partnerships consultant supporting start-ups, associations and media companies on edtech launches, strategy, collaborations and internationalisation activities. In addition, she is an award-winning content and events director with nine years’ international experience in events and community building.
Victoria Cetinkaya, Senior Policy Officer at Information Commissioner's Office
Victoria is a Senior Policy Officer in the ICO's Strategic Liaison department. She liaises with key stakeholders to promote and uphold information rights. Her current responsibilities lie in the area of public services, where she takes the lead in liaising with the education sector.
Dr David Edros, Lecturer in Law and the Open Society
David is University Lecturer in the Faculty of Law at University of Cambridge and WYNG Fellow in Law at Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge. David’s current research explores the nature of Data Protection, especially as it intersects with the right to privacy, freedom of expression, freedom of information and freedom of research.
Lothar Fritsch, Associate Professor in Information Security at Karlstad University
Lothar Fritsch is currently working as an Associate Professor in Information Security at Karlstad University in Sweden. He works and teaches in topics of computer science, information security and information privacy. Lothar’s work focuses on the analysis of security and privacy requirements in upcoming application areas.
Noriswadi Ismail, Senior Manager, Cybersecurity, Privacy and Resilience at Ernst & Young LLP
Noris is global data protection and privacy specialist in Ernst & Young UK & Ireland’s Cyber Security, Privacy & Resilience Advisory practice. He has 16 years of global compliance, risk management, governance and data protection in-house and consulting experience.
Ardi Kolah, LL.M., Executive Fellow & Co-Director at Henley Business School and Founder of GO DPO
Ardi is recognised by FT Europe as one of the leading data protection practitioners in Europe. He is the founder of executive education, advisory and recruitment group GO DPO. He was also responsible for creating Henley’s GDPR Transition Programme – the only executive education programme for senior managers offered by a leading business school in Europe.
Tim Rodgers, Information Governance Manager at Imperial College London
Tim is responsible for the development and dissemination of Imperial’s information governance policy network. He also leads the department on quality, risk and business process management. He founded and currently chairs Information Governance for Higher Education (IG4HE), a peer discussion group bringing together information management professionals from across London.
Gerrit-Jan Zwenne, Professor of Law & Digital Technologies at Leiden University
Gerrit-Jan Zwenne is a Professor of Law at Leiden University. He is renowned for his experience and knowledge in data protection and privacy and internet and telecoms law.
